Laura is currently completing her Juris Doctor at Monash University Law School, having graduated from RMIT University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Criminal Justice Administration with Distinction. Laura started at Hope Earle in 2017 as a Notary Paralegal and now assists staff generally as a Law Clerk & Property Paralegal.
Laura works closely with property lawyer Evelyn Wong. Together, they handle all aspects of purchaser and vendor matters for residential, commercial and off-the-plan properties, from contract stage to successful settlement. Laura has proficiency across PEXA and Duties Online platforms and has experience handling the following:
Day to day handling of property conveyances;
Preparation of Contracts of Sale and Vendor Statements;
Conducting searches and preparing due diligence reports;
Preparation and lodgement of State Revenue Office stamp duty refund applications, duty statements and complex assessments;
Preparation of section 27 statements and GST Withholding Notices; and
Preparation and lodgement of Transmission, Lost Title and Subdivision Applications.
Laura also assists our partners and senior lawyers across a range of commercial matters, including:
Preparation of briefs, various court documents and discovery for a range of commercial proceedings heard in State and Federal Courts;
Preparation of VCAT applications and related documents;
Preparation of adjudication responses for Building and Construction disputes in Victoria and Queensland;
Maintenance and transfer of domestic and international trade marks;
Maintenance and transfer of Australian Business Names; and
Use of the ASIC companies’ portal to manage registered company particulars and shareholder information.
Laura also provides accounts and administrative support as well as having carriage of various marketing tasks.
